This program is mainly focused on outdoor skills, making regular connections with nature and learning new skills such as fire lighting, compass and map skills, shelter and tent building, cooking, saw and axe skills, plus outdoor adventure skills such as swimming, canoeing, rock climbing, archery, tree top trekking and much more.

We accept boys and girls to be part of the program.

For overnight camps we do have boys and girls sleeping in separate tents or cabins supervised by male and female scouter volunteers.

We do adopt islamic principles and etiquette during the program. For most activities it is done as one large group.

If we have enough boys and girls in each section, we aim to have smaller teams for some activities organized by gender ( i.e. 5 to 6 per team).

Scouts Canada has an annual registration fee of approximately $230 plus a group fee of $50 which goes towards scouter training and operational costs.

There is also a cost for camps, day skills camps, and excursions such as skiing lessons, archery and other activities.

Also there will be fees for camping gear i.e. backpacks, hiking shoes, proper jackets.

Equipment list we are still determining whether our scouts group will purchase and store or ask for members to share their supplies i.e. tents, camp stoves etc. More details to follow about supplies to purchase once the program starts in shaa Allah.

This is a weekly program Sundays 1130 to 130pm , throughout the entire year. Programs are planned during all four seasons, fall, winter, spring and summer. Summer schedule tends to be lighter compared to the rest of the year.

This program is held at MNN masjid, who is a partner in the program. They provide ongoing support including space and marketing. There is a group of trained volunteers who have done specific Scouts Canada training who are the core team for planning and logistics of the entire program.

All Scouts Canada volunteers from this group will have done a police record check and vulnerable sector screen, personal reference check, interview, plus program training (online and in person learning ).

Location is MNN Masjid located at 3520 Odyssey Drive in Mississauga. Weekly meetings happen there and youth should dress appropriately to be outdoors. However, sometimes meetings happen offsite at local parks, conservation areas, Scouts Canada properties, and other venues.

Absolutely! The process includes registering with Scouts Canada , completing a police record check and vulnerable sector screen, submitting personal references, interview and training modules completed before being able to participate with the youth.
